Blog 53: Captain's Log
Cooking with the captain has allowed the entire crew to bond over the making and eating of a meal. Food is a universal language that can be applied across all cultures and brings different ones together. By having the crew cook together they could each bring a unique ingredient to the overall dish and in the end the combination of these overall individual ingredients provides one delicious and amazing end result that the entire crew can enjoy together. If you don't think it is as powerful as this suggestion says, give it a try. Invite over your friends for a dinner night and cook something from scratch. Buy all of the individual ingredients and have someone work on each one and add it when it is needed. There are many different dishes that can be made and attempted by you and your fellow comrades in effort to make a fabulous dish for all to enjoy. This simple and trivial task will bring about conversations and bonding time that may often be overlooked and under appreciated these days. These moments can be more valuable between two people than simply buying a lunch together and just eating because it forces people to communicated and work together using team work. Even dare to choose dishes from other cultures where no one has any idea how the actual dish should turn out and enjoy the surprise flavor at the end. Sometimes things that look questionable are actually some of the most delicious dishes to ever be made. Many dishes that you see today were created on accident by someone who was just messing around with different ingredients.
